For decades, English teaching in Indian schools followed a familiar pattern grammar rules, textbook passages, translation exercises, and exams that rewarded memorization over communication. Students could recite rules about tenses and still struggle to hold a basic conversation. NEP 2020 identified this exact problem: skills, not just information, need to be built and practiced. An English Language Lab India setup is essentially skill-based learning made operational. Instead of students passively absorbing grammar rules, they actively listen, speak, record their own voice, and get immediate feedback the kind of iterative practice loop that builds a skill rather than just knowledge about a skill. It's the language learning equivalent of a science lab: theory is taught in the classroom, but the lab is where it becomes usable.
