Three years experience in school district bookkeeping and or accounting with an emphasis on federal and state grant compliance 3. Ability to communicate effectively 4. Excellent past record in attendance and punctuality. 5. Demonstrate EXTENSIVE computer skills. 6. Type accurately at 40 words per minute pass Word and Excel testing (REQUIRED)All Candidates must complete testing prior to interview - Option A Schedule testing on a different day from interview - Please contact FFC8 Administration at (719) 382-1300 to schedule testing ASAP.- Option B Schedule testing consecutively (testing first interview following on same day) - This will take approximately 3 hours. - Student Achievement will contact applicants to schedule interviews. Applicants MUST also apply to the position before scheduling testing. Applicants who have already completed and passed testing are NOT required to test again. Job Goals Responsible for supporting the efficient and professional operation of a department administrative office. Provide general administrative assistance to department staff by performing assigned department processes projects answering and screening phone calls preparing written communication receiving and responding to inquiries and requests performing department financial responsibilities creating reports and maintaining office appearance and operations. Assist with accounting bookkeeping and budgeting for several federal and District grant programs and the Student Achievement Department. Essential Job Functions 1. Execute processes and projects related to assigned department functions. 2. Answer phone and direct calls to appropriate individuals. 3. Compose and type communications including flyers professional development catalogs memos etc. using office technology effectively. 4. Respond to inquiries from parents students public administration and District staff. Direct individuals to others as needed. 5. Communicate effectively across the District to coordinate responsibilities schedule and plan meetings etc. 6. Gather analyze enter and compile data for reports and communications. 7. Process internal and external mail. 8. Enter work orders as needed and assigned. 9. Manage and inventory elementary District and state testing materials. 10. Maintain several district grants using the grant accounting system. Monitor budgets and expenditures for grant programs. 11. Gather financial data to assist with preparation and reporting of federal grant program ESSA application. 12. Prepare budgets to align with the guidelines of local state federal and other agencies as required by grant documents. 13. Input information to create on line requisitions or requests for check for grants assigned. 14. Track and maintain accurate financial records purchase orders vendor contracts and budgets for assigned District grants and the Student Achievement Department. 15. Ensure payments from grant accounts are verified and accurate. 16. Provide monthly budget spreadsheets and accounting information to the Business Department and the Student Achievement Department on a regular basis. 17. Complete annual financial report for grants and monthly quarterly federal reports as assigned. 18. Perform year-end accounting duties as assigned. 19. Perform other duties as assigned.Performance Responsibilities Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to use accounting software standard databases Excel and word processing software effectively. Ability to provide courteous customer service and work cooperatively with others. English language skills bilingual skills desirable. Ability to work at a fast pace and handle multiple tasks and situations simultaneously with interruptions. Ability to work independently. Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job. Ability to promote and follow Board of Education policies Superintendent policies building and department procedures. Ability to communicate interact and work effectively and cooperatively with all people including those from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds. Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace follow safety rules practice safe work habits utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator.
