We have specialized gear technology that allows us to serve the unique needs of the commercial and defense industries.Job Summary The Forge Press Operator will serve a critical role within our manufacturing process. The incumbent will be responsible for operating one of two 2 500 ton forge presses and our third 300 ton forge press. The three forge presses are a key component in North American Gear & Forge s ability to remain a leading competitor in the manufacturing industry.The Forge Press Operator position will work 2nd shift Monday thru Friday 1 30 PM to 10 00 PM with overtime as needed . This is a new shift in our forging department hence training will be done on 1st shift Monday thru Friday 5 00 AM to 2 30 PM for a few months before the 2nd shift is sufficiently staffed and trained.Daily responsibilities Operate forge press and set up Perform visual inspection of forged parts Perform dimensional inspection of forged parts Perform minor maintenance of forge press and components Die assembly of forge tooling Shot blasting of forged parts Applicant must be able to read and follow process sheets and parameters Basic Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Prior forging experience desired but not required Mandatory pre-employment drug screen Physical & Safety Requirements Must be able to lift 70 lbs Ability to stand for 8 or more hours Exposed to hazards that require body protection (gloves pants steel toes safety glasses etc.) Follow all safety requirements Perform daily housekeeping activities to ensure a clean and safe work area North American Gear & Forge supports equal employment opportunity.
