Land development engineering firm is expanding into Austin and is hiring a Civil Engineer to be the Branch Manager Project Manager. The Branch Project Manager is responsible for civil engineering project management leadership profitability and client management for a design team. Responsibilities include project management business development financial performance loss prevention yearly budgeting workload and staff balancing preparation of technical proposals monitoring of project budgets staff supervision and scheduling of key projects. The Branch Project Manager will maintain presence and leadership throughout the regions where we do business through involvement in civic professional and business organizations. This is a leadership position that also includes mentoring and developing staff. Fun environment work hard play hard and win together Growth potential Opportunity to develop and run a business Requirements Bachelor s degree in civil engineering P.E. registration in Texas 8 years of experience in land development civil site engineering. 4 years of land development experience in Austin area Desire and aptitude to build a reputable business and develop team members Valid driver s license. Ability to maintain and operate personal and or company vehicle. Essential Job Functions Project Management in the areas of land development plan design stormwater management design water and sanitary sewer design and erosion and sedimentation control design. Manage team assignments and balance workload in a deadline driven environment. Business development. Quality Control. Permitting of federal state and local regulatory agencies. Prepare presentations to various land use related boards. Prepare proposals. Financial management of projects including accounts receivable. Budgeting and scheduling of projects. Client management and overall satisfaction. Mentor and develop staff. Knowledge Skills Abilities In depth knowledge of the planning and zoning process in Austin. Familiar with AutoCAD Land Development Desktop. Knowledge of Hydraulic and Stormwater Design Programs. Proficient in design and drafting capabilities. Proficient grading and drainage design skills. Utility design experience including pump station and force mains. Experience dealing with regulatory agencies and review professionals. Proficient in the use of available mapping websites for due diligence and site investigation purposes. Construction oversight experience for site work. Proficient in the use of the following design tools for site engineering Softdesk LDD Hydraflow-Hydrographs Flow-Comp HydraCAD Hydraflow Storm Sewers HEC-RAS Various Nomographs Gravity Flow Hydraulic Analysis Manning s Equation Proficient in the use of Microsoft Software including Word Excel Outlook and Project. Knowledge of Truck and Turning & Modeling software is a plus. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Independent and critical thinking abilities. Superior organizational and delegation ability. Ability to work and lead in a team oriented environment with a focus on staff development and mentoring. Client management experience.
