Diesel/Heavy Equipment Mechanic (Diamond Yard)

Compensation package for this full time (eligible for overtime) position is 16.00 - 18.00 depending on experience and qualifications. Hours are Monday Friday 6 30am 3pm and alternating weekends. Job Summary C Responsible for safely keeping fleet of straight and semi-trucks equipment and field pumps running and maintained properly. C All applicants will be subject to a pre-employment background check C Applicant will be subject to a drug screen as a condition of employment C Applicant will be subject to a Motor Vehicle Report Minimum Qualifications C Over 2 years up to and including 4 years from post high school work military institutional or vocational environment in mechanic field or maintaining road construction equipment with demonstrated mechanical knowledge to diagnose component troubleshoot repair communicate and document C Mechanical experience diesel engine heavy equipment preferred C Provide and maintain proper CDL licensure medical card and acceptable driving record. Duties and Responsibilities Diagnose various electrical issues on many makes and models of semis and trailers and light heavy equipment Repair and replace tires hubs bearings maintenance cutting edges etc. Adjust and replace brakes hydraulic air lines and hoses C Responsible for performing maintenance and repairs of a significant nature on all types of equipment and or assisting with repairs improvements maintenance of equipment to assure it is in safe working condition. C Safely operate equipment standard and specialty tools welders hoists and other lifting devises etc. on a daily basis. C Troubleshooting equipment maintenance problems to properly diagnose components to determine method and extent of repair necessary. Read interpret analyze and apply information in technical manuals and schematics. C Anticipate needed parts and supplies disassemble equipment and parts fabricate parts when needed and reassemble equipment and parts. C Use cutting torch and perform welding tasks C Clean work areas C Fill our shop repair orders daily C Drive and maintain mechanic s truck C Communicate effectively (verbal listening written) frequent contact and communication with others within and outside the company. Self-motivated team-player with excellent interpersonal skills ability ti work independently or in a team setting ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteous respectful of others. C Proven experience handling multiple projects and priorities while maintaining tight deadlines highly organized with attention to detail C Accurately complete work order or other maintenance repair documentation C Ensure OSHA DOT EPA ODNR safety and environmental regulation compliance. C Required to operate and maintain company vehicle to preform field service repair then operate repaired equipment to ensure proper working condition after repairs have been completed. C Required to maintain and repair diesel electric driven high pressure pumps and associated equipment at various field locations. C Responsible to provide own basic hand tools pneumatics and some specialty tools C Performs other duties as assigned.
