Academic Advisor &ndash TRiO Student Support Services

Advises undergraduate students participating in the TRiO Student Support Services program. The incumbent is responsible for identification recruitment enrollment retention and provision of services to eligible participants which includes discussion of academic and professional goals tracking of progress toward and completion of requirements for graduation career counseling providing information on financial aid tutoring information about admission to graduate school and other activities related to the goals and objectives of the program. This position will assist in coordinating events activities and workshops in association with the services provided by the TRiO SSS program. Required qualifications Bachelor s degree. Zero - two years of experience in education or similar field. Excellent written and verbal communication skills human relations skills and sensitivity to the needs of the disadvantaged. Preferred qualifications Master s degree. Previous experience in TRiO programs or other entities providing services to underrepresented populations in higher education. Previous experience in academic advising counseling career planning group facilitation workshop design and social-interpersonal development.
