Education and Teaching Librarian

The Education and Teaching Librarian has primary responsibility to administer the Education and Teaching Library in accordance with Library and University policy and procedure. He she will provide excellent reference and information services to users of the Education and Teaching Library. Deliver library instruction and orientation classes within the College of Education. Identify evaluate and select materials to support teaching learning and research efforts of the College of Education. Work with College of Education faculty members and students in a highly professional discipline. Develop creative projects and services that reflect priorities adopted by the OSU Libraries and its three professional campus branch libraries. Supervise one full-time staff member and 3.0 FTE student assistants. The Librarian is responsible for developing and administering the Education and Teaching Library budget. Exposure to dust and mold from books. Minimum Qualifications Master s Degree MLIS and a minimum of three years relevant professional experience in an academic library. A demonstrated commitment to reference and public service. Exceptional core competencies including leadership communication and organization. A record of research publications presentations or service to the profession. Ability to interact with the public in a friendly manner successfully complete multiple projects and meet deadlines. Strong reference and analytical skills. Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with faculty students and staff to create a service-focused environment and to develop branch activities compatible with overall library goals and policies. Aptitude to plan initiate and manage both physical and virtual operations. Ability to effectively manage finite resources. Ability to meet university requirements for tenure including scholarly and creative activities and service Preferred Qualifications Experience in a land-grant institution. Previous work in an education library. Expertise in the areas of instructional design pedagogical theory and or information literacy. This is a tenure-track appointment.
