Carpentry Instructor

POSITION GOALS Provide both classroom and lab instruction to adult non-credit Carpentry Technology students utilizing an approved training curriculum and materials. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS A minimum of three years related field experience. A minimum of two years teaching experience. Demonstrated knowledge of subject specialty and effective teaching methods. General Contractor s License preferred. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Plan prepare and deliver approved curriculum on a daily basis. Plan and organize instructional materials supply inventories tools equipment. Evaluate and assist in the resolution of student concerns. Prepare lesson plans. Track student grades and attendance. Lead inspire motivate and advise students to actively participate in all aspects of their educational process. Maintain expertise in the subject area. Provide regular accurate and timely feedback to students and the school concerning academics behavior attendance etc. Instructors should enjoy working with people to help develop them into quality introductory level carpentry technicians. Instructors provide assessment of students through applicable monitoring and reporting processes. Carpentry instructors ensure adherence to all safety standards and practices including oversight care and maintenance of facilities equipment and materials. SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR APPLICANTS This is a part-time nine-month non-affiliated position. Employee must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
