1970 CORVETTE LT-1 CONVERTIBLE MANUAL 4 SPEED ORIGINAL 350 MOTOR 61 000 MILES-VERY RARE CAR VIN 194670S409474 The 1970 LT1 Corvette Convertible is the Holy Grail of the High Performance small block corvettes. Total production was only 1287 Total units with less than 500 being convertibles. This LT1 has a fresh and correct LT1 motor with correct original stamping and paint markings. The 1970 LT1 motor has 370 horsepower at 6000 RPM. From the factory the LT1 motor had many special high performance components including solid lifters forged pistons 11 1 compression 4 bolt main cap block special radiator high lift camshaft and high rise aluminum intake manifold and 2.5 exhaust. A beautiful older restoration in correct Cortez silver. This car has an interesting history told from previous owner who owned it over 25 years. Sold new in Kentucky the car was raced and had the original engine removed. The body was shipped to Canada where the last owner started the restoration. Prior to finish he tracked down the original motor still in Kentucky and had it shipped to Canada for rebuild and installation. The VIN stamped had been ground off from an earlier rebuild but the correct factory engine stamping and chalk marks on block remained. He had this engine carefully rebuilt to preserve all the remaining factory markings. This car has all the correct LT1 components including proper tachometer. The motor revs flawlessly with extremely smooth and powerful performance. It also has the correct new vintage tires that the car was sold with new. All the vacuum lines are new so that the mechanicals of the vehicle operate properly. This Corvette is so fun to drive with the top up or down.
