Through no fault of my own I found myself in a scary shelter. They found out I was positive for heartworm so they are treating me and once I ve completed the treatment I ll be hitching a ride to DC So a little about me. I am a chill guy who likes Netflix and food delivery. When pressed I am willing to walk for carry out. I enjoy rides in the car and walks to meet other dogs and people. I have not lived with kids but I played with some at the park recently and they seemed okay since they were mostly petting me and telling me what a good boy I am. I am medium energy so looking for a family who can give me a couple of good walks day and take me to the dog park or somewhere else I can play off leash with other dogs. I m also hoping for a family that will allow me to test my couch warming skills when all the playing walking and dog park time is done.Foster update Dan is an excellent house guest He does well in his crate takes treats nicely greets people calmly when the come into the house and sleeps through the night. Actually he sleeps more than through the night. This guy is the type of dog who loves to relax at home as long as he gets some good walking done When he gets excited (when the morning comes or any other time he s happy to see you) he sings a very beautiful little song while he wags his tail and tries to get you to shake. Any family who adopts Dan will truly be lucky Like most shelter dogs Dan may need a refresher on housetraining. He is likely crate trained. Dan has tested positive and is being treated for Heartworm disease. Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm if left untreated is life threatening but after treatment dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. The adoption fee for this dog is 450 which includes the cost of routine vetting including vaccinations spay neuter and heartworm treatment.
