Freehab Inc. of Los Angeles is accepting bids for the remodel of a 14 613 square foot treatment center serving homeless and low income in the Sun Valley area at 8140 Sunland Boulevard Sun Valley CA 91352. Work will include Repair of an existing detox facility to include new doors and hardware replacement of plumbing fixtures and interior finishes. B-licensed general contractors can bid on this federally funded project. A 100% Performance & Payment Bond and a 10% Bid Bond is required. Construction plans specs are included in the bid package. This is a federally-assisted project with Community Development Block Grant funds provided by the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development administered by the City of Los Angeles through the Los Angeles Housing and Community Investment Department (HCIDLA). Davis-Bacon Act and State Prevailing Wage provisions are applicable to this project. The work to be performed under the contract for construction is also subject to the requirements of Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968 as amended (12 U. S. C. 1701u Section 3 as implemented by HUD Title 24 CFR Part 135). The purpose of Section 3 is to ensure that employment and other economic opportunities generated by HUD assistance or HUD-assisted projects covered by section 3 shall to the greatest extend feasible be directed to low- and very low-income persons particularly persons who are recipients of HUD assistance for housing. A pre-bid meeting will be held at the site location 8140 Sunland Boulevard Sun Valley CA 91352 on 7 22 13 (at) 3 00 p.m. Sealed bids must be submitted on forms provided in bid packages and are due no later than 4 00 pm on 7 25 13.
