Retail Sales Representative

Job Purpose The Retail Sales Representative (RSR) is responsible for developing and growing sales volume in their assigned territory through effective fact-based selling and relationship building with retail account s operations personnel at store and market (district) level. Job Responsibilities Consultative Selling - Developing and leveraging relationships with key influence and decision makers in assigned stores and markets - Delivering consistent market level contact as per client standards - Effectively gaining front end and main aisle presence of client brands. This is accomplished in conjunction and alignment with store or market personnel so that the primary merchandising and stocking duties are done by store personnel. This collaborative relationship is developed on a mutual interest and business relationship. Achieving Results - Meeting or exceeding POS to plan goals for assigned stores and markets - Delivering a positive gap versus Non-DRT - Growing POS for client brands by selling incremental display locations selling the execution of plan-o-gramed locations executing initiatives as well as maintaining in stock conditions. - Analyze and develop business plans each trimester that identifies opportunities to grow sales within their territory. This business plan would include a review of the previous trimester analysis of upcoming POS to plan goals opportunities to close gaps an action plan with specific territory goals and time table. Organizing and Planning Follow team sales call standards and effectively orchestrate a call coverage plan that meets the business needs of client and the retail customer. Administration Reporting- complete accurate and timely paperwork reports recaps itineraries timesheets expense reports etc. Job Requirements Education - High School Diploma or equivalent job-related experience - Bachelor s degree preferred Experience - Previous retail sales experience preferred Skills & Competencies - Demonstrates skills and behaviors pertaining to RSM competencies Achieving Results Consultative Selling - - Initiative Organization & Planning - A dynamic upbeat salesperson that eludes high energy and execution excellence. - Superior verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to translate ideas and concepts into retailer benefits - Home computer with Windows operating system internet access and printer - Strong self-management skills - Should possess basic computer retail store math and wireless PDA skills Tools Software - Competence with Microsoft Office Software (PowerPoint & Excel) Other Requirements-Must perform the job safely and utilize proper safety techniques and use of equipment when appropriate. -Delivers work that meets or exceeds management expectations as to quality quantity timeliness and attendance. -Ensures workflow and processes are followed as needed to achieve business objectives and maximum level of operational efficiency -Adheres to Company Policies & Procedures including but not limited to associate policies found on the Company s intranet site and the Company s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics -Complies with applicable laws -Performs the job safely utilizing proper equipment and safety techniques -Additional responsibilities as assigned by one s supervisor or other manager related to the position department Driving Requirements - Driving is an essential duty and function of this job and requires the use of Personal Vehicle - Must maintain current and valid driver s license and valid proof of current insurance Travel Requirements- Travel to client site as necessary Other Requirements- Must perform the job safely and utilize proper safety techniques and use of equipment when appropriate - Ability to be flexible and willing to work extended hours when necessary Physical Demands- May stand for up to 8 hours - Climb stool or step ladder to reach up to 10 feet in order to obtain lift move product or appliances weighing up to 20 lbs. - Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. without assistance - May push and pull a wheeled cart weighing up to 300 pounds fully laden with appliances supplies and product - Occasionally bend and or stoop crawl and or climb and kneel - Continuously walk use feet and or legs for repetitive motion and use hands and or arms for repetitive motion.
