POSITION TITLE Salvation Army BellringerREPORTS to (TITLE) Christmas CoordinatorMISSIONTo raise the funds needed for the services provided to individuals and families by The Metropolitan Division of The Salvation Army.PRIMARY DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIESDOSReport to work promptly as scheduled. Represent The Salvation Army and its programs. Responsible for kettle stand and bell at assigned location. Wear assigned ID (Photo ID for employees) and apron while working. Greet public as they pass the work site. Ring bell (at sites where appropriate). Be polite and thank those who make a donation. Take breaks as scheduled. Remain alert and aware of your surroundings never taking the kettle off the stand. Follow Corps policies and procedures. DON TSNo possession or use of tobacco gum alcohol weapons or illegal drugs Avoid distractions (conversations with friends shopping etc.) Use profanity or become argumentative with the public. Take money for personal use. Fail to follow all procedures and policies. RELATIONSHIPS This individual interacts with a wide variety of people on a daily basis and acts as a representative of the Army and its mission.SUPERVISION RECEIVED This position is supervised by the Corps Officer and an assigned supervisor. Each Bellringer must perform their responsibilities within established policies and guidelines.PERFORMANCE MEASURES Individual will be evaluated on how effectively they interact with the public and follow policies and procedures of this position as well as the timeliness accuracy and completeness of accomplishing assigned goals.EDUCATION EXPERIENCE-A High School degree or GED is preferred but not required. -Experience working with the public desired. REQUIREMENTS-Must be clean neat and well groomed-Dressed appropriately for the location and weather-A smiling friendly and cheerful attitude-Prompt and consistent in attendance-Responsible for items assigned (kettles equipment etc) to your care-Flexible in light of changing job situations priorities.-A conviction for the mission of The Salvation Army.PHYSICAL DEMANDS WORK ENVIRONMENT This position requires standing for long periods of time be based outside in all kinds of weather and may do some light physical work.
