Primary Purpose The Congregational Resource Developer generates coordinates and maintains congregational and community support for refugees asylees and entrants resettling through IRP Lancaster. Essential Duties Congregational Engagement Secures the support of local congregations through refugee co-sponsorship financial and in-kind donations use of facilities and volunteers Conducts outreach to congregations via presentations and other speaking engagements targeting congregations church leaders church committees ministeriums judicatories and various other faith groups to heighten IRP Lancaster s visibility in the faith community Relates to national level representative of Church World Service denominations to increase involvement of local churches and provide information on assistance provided by local churches. Maintains regular records of all contacts in appropriate databases and follows established office procedures for documenting services and protecting confidential information Develops educational materials that aid church leaders in developing co-sponsorship programs and raising awareness about refugee concerns Recruits orients and trains co-sponsors to assist in meeting the needs of newly arriving clients in compliance with organizational standards Develops and periodically updates training manuals and provides relevant training materials to co-sponsors and volunteers as needed relative to their assignments. Collaborates with the IRP Lancaster Resettlement Program Coordinator for the placement of co-sponsors with refugee families Provides guidance to IRP Lancaster Case Managers in their interactions with co-sponsors Collects records of co-sponsor and volunteer in-kind and cash donations for the IRP Lancaster Matching Grant Program in collaboration with case managers Assist with writing grant proposals and reporting related information General Duties Undertakes other duties as assigned. Works varied hours including night and weekend work (possibly one Sunday each month). Qualifications Education Bachelor s degree in communications non-profit management church leadership intercultural studies or related field. Experience Previous work experience in a faith-based non-profit setting and knowledge of immigration and refugee issues church denominations and volunteer management practices are essential for this position. Demonstrated ability to work independently with a high level of comfort and skill interacting with partner organizations and coordinating people and resources. Ability to work in a multicultural environment required. Other Skills Superior public speaking skills and strength in written communication. The successful candidate must be computer literate with proficiency in MS Office (PowerPoint Excel and Word) and internet applications required.
