Innovative Schools currently operates three divisions School Design Division Innovative Schools uses its national network of advisors and partnerships to identify the most innovative school models across the country that demonstrate strong academic outcomes and have a strong infrastructure for replication. School Solutions Division Innovative Schools currently offers a comprehensive and coordinated approach to school support offering a menu of options to public schools finance technology curricular and teacher staffing & retention support. School Leadership Division - The Delaware Leadership Project (DLP) modeled after the highly successful New York City Leadership Academy represents the only alternative route to Principal certification in Delaware. OVERVIEW As a member of the Solutions Team the Director of Financial Services will be responsible for developing and implementing the strategy to refine and expand the organization s Financial Services offerings. The Director of Financial Services will focus on financial reporting systems team management and quality and control. AREAS OF MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES INCLUDE Financial Reporting (External) Prepare various financial reports from the State system for clients Prepare and present monthly financial reports to the Client Board of Directors and Finance Committee Regularly attend appropriate DDOE training and information sessions to stay abreast of changing policies and procedures and Prepare and review budgets for the new schools during the charter application process. Financial Management (Internal) Facilitate the process to create and recommend annual budgets to the Board of Directors Create financial models to support the operations and growth of the organization and Oversee day-to-day financial operations (Balance Sheet and P& L) including payables receivables and cash flow. Team Management Train and develop the Financial Services Team members to ensure they have information necessary to properly complete their jobs Match team members with appropriate school projects and Identify and engage new team members as needed. Loan Guaranty Fund (LGF) Program Management Work with charter school leaders and board members to develop viable financing requests for lending institutions and Innovative Schools Manage the relationship with legal advisors and trustees and Ensure that LGF resources are invested to maximize security and income. Quality and Control Routinely communicate with clients and collect feedback on services provided to ensure the obligations of each contract are being fulfilled Conduct bi-annual audits of client schools to ensure the Financial Services practices and procedures are being implemented properly and meet both the company and client expectations and Review quality control feedback and follow-up on any potential areas of concern. SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor s degree in accounting finance business management or a related field Master s degree preferred 5 years of experience in an operations and financial management role experience with public education and charter schools and or non-profit experience preferred Evidence of success with leading people and client management Proven self-starter able to work independently and effectively manage others and Strategic-thinker with the capacity to adapt to highly dynamic financial and operating environment.
