HR Generalist

Arnold Magnetic Technologies manufactures a wide range of permanent magnets precision magnetic assemblies and ultra thin alloys. Our products are used by the consumer industrial medical military aerospace and telecommunications markets. Brief Summary of Position Directs and coordinates human resources activities including employee relations recruitment benefits and leave management by performing the following duties. Responsibilities Essential Functions of Position Facilitates employee relation issues with management team. Maintains current knowledge of State and Federal employment law including experience with practical application and interpretation of. Keeps records of personnel transactions such as hires promotions transfers performance reviews and terminations. Coordinates performance appraisal program. Facilitates drug testing and worker s compensation programs. Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations. Represents organization at unemployment and workers compensation hearings and investigations. Advises employees of company policies and other aspects of the employment relationship. Coordinates employee events and communications. Conducts employee meetings on benefit plans and coordinates other benefit communications. Administers COBRA disability leaves and FMLA. Administers all benefit plans including enrollment record-keeping resolving employee issues and verifying bills. Manages recruitment process including advertising job openings screening and interviewing candidates completing reference and other background checks for candidates to fill vacant positions. Manages relationship with recruiters and temporary agencies. Keeps records of applicant flow and new hire demographics for governmental reporting purposes. Plans and conducts new employee orientation. Ensures all required new hire paperwork is completed and filed accordingly. Maintains knowledge and skills in human resources by reading professional publications and attending seminars Performs other duties as assigned. Supervisor Responsibilities None Required Technical Job Experience and Qualifications Strong computer skills Microsoft Office Suite Excel (required) Experience with HRIS and or payroll system(s) experience required. ADP experienced is preferred. 5 years of HR generalist experience Education Requirements Bachelor s Degree in Human Resources Business or related field strongly desired PHR SPHR Certification is preferred Beneficial Knowledge Skills and Abilities Ability to work in a fast paced environment Strong analytical skills able to research analyze and make recommendations. Outstanding communication interpersonal and relationship building skills. Excellent organizational time management and multi-tasking skills. Manufacturing experience is preferred. Working Conditions Standard work week is Monday through Friday hours to be consistent with business unit some off hours work expected. Generally working in Office with some activities in production environment. Some day or overnight travel domestically could be required. Physical Requirements Sitting and or working at a computer for extended periods of time. Must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
