Junior Field Networking Technician

Junior Field Technician Job Description As a junior field consultant you will be responsible for performing installations configurations maintenance and repair work problem solving and trouble shooting on any computer related equipment that supports our client s businesses from laptops desktops servers communications equipment (cables routers and switches) tablets (ex. iPad s) printers local area networks wide area networks on-site and off-sitedata storage and any piece of computer related peripheral or software our client end-user would be using. The junior consultant has to perform the majority of the mentioned tasks while providing a high level of customer service to our clients. The junior field consultant must have knowledge of the policies procedures practices methods and regulations related to the areas. Juniorfield consultants may also provide end user assistance and training whenever necessary. As a team player you will share and communicate ideas and knowledge to all members of the PC Specialist team. PC Specialists Inc. is located in Rosemont IL but travel to client sites throughout the Chicago-land area will be required and most work will be performed at client sites. Key Responsibilities Connecting and setting up hardware Installing work-stations Loading all necessary software Providing network access and connectivity to clients Monitoring security Installing and maintaining passwords Advising clients and PC Specialists Inc. about any security breach Ensuring that lockout programs are installed Diagnose and resolve technical issues Maintain a list of necessary maintenance and repairs and submit same Research both current and potential services and resources Trouble shoot network operating system software and hardware Maintain familiarization with network operating system software and hardware Provide technical support Research and investigate technically sound solutions for small business technology environments Provide outstanding customer service by interacting directly with client on client issues Document the calls and communicate back to client in clear concise manner Submit written (e-mail text) invoice documentation at completion of service call Requirements Comptia A and Comptia A Network training certification preferred Experience working with teams preferred Ability and comfort with working directly with clients Excellent documentation skills The ability to perform tech duties License and own vehicle and willingness to travel within the Chicago-land area Skills Experience with Windows Vista Windows 7 Experience with Windows Server 2003 2008 Experience with Office 2003 2007 Good communicator with excellent phone manner Problem solving skills Desire for knowledge and learning Knowledge of Setting up system and network architecture Design of WAN technologies and associated routing security VPN technologies Ability to read logs and event viewer Understanding of the Ideological Priority escalation process Trouble shooting ability and advanced disaster recovery Active directory and Group Policy application and design Additional skills preferred VMware certification Microsoft certification Cisco certification (Cisco routers)
