Amtec has an exciting opportunity for a Helpdesk II professional for a 6 month contract position located in La Mirada CA. The qualified candidate would be responsible for performing help desk activities in a centralized multi-site network environment. Resolve help desk support requests from end users via help desk support system. Analyze troubleshoot and repair PC server and network systems including but not limited to desktops servers and wireless systems. Excellent verbal and written communications skills necessary. Perform moves adds and changes as required. Attributes Technically skilled Understanding of current software and technologies High-attention-to-detail flexibility follow-through and organizational skills A high level of professionalism and positive attitude a must Ability to work quickly and effectively under pressure and to efficiently deal with multiple priorities simultaneously will be the key to success in this position Responsibilities Provide Level 1 remediation and identify troubleshoot and resolve hardware software and network related problems experienced by end users in a multi-site network Provide help desk remote support and troubleshooting Install configure and maintain PC computers and accessories software printers network devices mobile phones Work with vendors to provide support for network platforms including unified communications VoIP web based inventory management systems and projects Work with company management and guidelines to ensure optimal operations of all systems documentation and inventory Monitor backups and alerts for network monitoring and respond to events Maintain field service and spare parts inventory Assist in the ongoing maintenance of servers network devices including switches firewalls wireless PC s mobile devices and other platforms to ensure up to date OS levels patches and firmware On-call 24x7 support as required Qualifications Must be able to communicate in English both verbally and in written form Associate s Degree in Information Technology or related field preferred 2-3 years of experience in a network environment Windows 7 8 2003 and 2008R2 Experience with virtualization VMWare and hypervisor HyperV environments Experience with UC architectures VoIP and QoS Experience with Microsoft technologies including Office 365 Office 2010 2013 Internet Explorer Outlook and Exchange Fundamental knowledge and understanding of LAN WAN architecture and administration A or MCSE certification preferred Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to communicate to non-technical users Ability to prioritize work load effectively according to needs of the organization Other Requirements May be required to attend and participate in professional development activities both in and outside the company to stay abreast of new developments and best practices.
