This autobiography explains the dangers I faced the friends I lost and the close calls I experienced almost losing my life many times working as a harvester of the sea. Example Story The scars he showed me ran across his right side starting at the middle of his rib cage. They traveled down his back in a half circle pattern about half way to his spine down towards his buttocks. He laughed telling me he can t show me the rest of his scars because it would be too embarrassing. He pulled a small portion of the top of his pants down exposing the upper part of his buttocks clearly showing the scars running downward he said he could not show me anymore because One tooth went between my butt hole and my nuts. Oh no That s not good What happened I was diving Abalone and just returned to the boat with a full bag handing it to my tender. The next thing I knew I was hit hard by something and felt tremendous pressure on my right side. I did not feel pain just a lot of pressure. It happened so fast and I was being thrashing back and forth in the water next to the boat. I looked to my right and could see the big lifeless cold eye of the white shark. The water was foaming and red from the thrashing and all the blood. I knew that a shark had me and with all my might I balled up my fist reared back as far as I could and hit the son of a bitch just behind the eye. The shark let go of me and swam out a little ways and did a 180 returning to bite me again. Swimming as fast as I could to get back to the boat my tender helping me aboard before the shark could take another mouthful. I couldn t believe the story Jay had just told me.
