We are looking for an Electronics Technician for a fast paced high energy welding repair shop in the Richmond area. Location Ashland VA Job Description Directly Reports To the owner works with purchasing office staff and other technicians. Key Responsibilities Install service repair and diagnose many different kinds of welding related equipment. Look up part numbers and prices for items needed to complete the project. Keep track of time on work orders and daily time sheets. Schedule Must be available Monday through Friday from 8 00 am to 5 00 pm. Must be flexible for rare after normal business hours or weekends if necessary. Qualifications Associate degree in Electronics with two or more years of experience in an industrial environment. Needs to have a valid unrestricted Virginia driver s license with a clean background bondable and able to obtain a security clearance. Able to diagnose power supply and wire feeder problems. Able to read and understand schematics be computer literate able to follow instructions. Need to be able to work with others in a very loosely structured environment. Expectations Able to pass electronics test and component identification. The first 30 days are training and testing. Next 60-90 days work as a helper next 90 days as an assistant next 90 days as a shop guy. By the end of the first year you will be able to diagnose troubleshoot write up estimates order parts and repair basic welding machines and bill 50% of your time. By the end of the second year you will have attended manufacturers training classes bill 60% or better of your time and can repair 80% of machines coming in the door and have started doing service calls on the road in and around central Virginia. Compensation Starting pay rates are 15.00- 22.00 per hour and goes up with consistant demonstration of technical skills abilities good attitude and motivation to learn. After 90 day introduction period health safety and fitness bonuses are paid weekly earned time off begins. Bonuses can be earned quarterly based on overall company performance.
