Our client is well-established in the printing and consulting industry. They are looking for Maintenance Technologist in Mississauga ON to work on a long term assignment. Continental Shift (2 - 12 hr days 2 - 12 hr nights 4 days off) Essential Duties Maintains all site plant and production equipment including mechanical electrical and HVAC systems. Operates building and utility systems Monitors plant utilities to maintain safe working conditions on shift. Participates in housekeeping activities as required Performs all tasks in accordance with company s safe Job Procedures. Operate plant utilities as required to supply for production processes Operate all building utilities including heating refrigeration HVAC compressed air nitrogen vacuum fire protection electrical and material handling equipment to enable plant production activities and ensure the safety and security of plant personnel the building and premises Monitor control building system operating conditions to maintain utility service at required specification Execute preventive and emergency maintenance procedures Use appropriate material handling equipment (forklift pallet truck or other devices) to transport materials and equipment to required staging storage areas Receive ship materials Respond to plant emergencies (e.g. major equipment failure chemical spill fire etc) as directed by Batch Chief Perform equipment changeover (cleaning) and testing Participate in all aspects of plant housekeeping Ensure that all maintenance operations comply with plant safety guidelines Maintain records Maintain utility and equipment logs and input facility data via computer terminal. Maintenance activities log Defect reporting Operate spare parts inventory Support personnel on shift performing their tasks Work with Operations or Engineering on shift to resolve equipment issues Relieve or fill-in for other shift maintenance or operating personnel in the plant as required Train personnel Cross-train existing shift personnel and train new hires. Safety Apply lock-out tag-out procedures and work permits Follow safe job procedures Identify safety concerns and communicate them immediately to Lead Maintenance Technologist or Operations Manager and to anyone immediately affected by any identified hazard. Attend QIT meetings and assist in various project studies Participate in trials special tests special maintenance jobs and other activities as required for plant improvement or process development. Assigned to ON CALL duty on a rotating basis This posting will require personal vehicle (mileage paid while doing field work) QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED Community College graduate of mechanical or electrical technology (or equivalent combination of education and experience) Provincial Licence as Millwright Able to interpret Process System P& IDs Demonstrated understanding of process control principles and their application to building environmental and plant services. Ability to use PLCs to interrogate control and troubleshoot facility processes and diagnose equipment issues. Knowledge of mechanical and physical processes Demonstrated ability to identify and repair both mechanical and electrical equipment defects Trained and able to use chemical protective equipment (respirators SCBA etc.) WHMIS training Able to work at heights and in confined enclosed spaces Individual should be flexible and able to function in an unstructured environment Good interpersonal skills and proven ability to relate well in a people-oriented environment Computer literacy - knowledgeable competent in MS applications (Word Outlook Access Excel) Willing to work rotating shifts and a 7 day week schedule as required Please note that this is the most up to date version of job description available at this time During Client Interview you will receive additional information variance may apply When you have some time please register in our database (5 minute process) to be considered for future openings the link is available on our website at www.teamrecruiter.com in the Candidate section.
