Duration 6 months contract - to hire option Location D T Toronto The Role The chosen contractor would be responsible for independent review of Basel II Pillar 1Advanced Approaches for Credit Risk Operational Risk Market Risk and Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR) to assess compliance with applicable requirements as set out by the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions Canada (OSFI). This is an effective challenge role. Interaction The chosen contractor would be interacting with other departments within Enterprise Risk & Portfolio Management including Risk Models (Wholesale & Retail) Model Risk and Vetting Lines of Business and Corporate Audit Division while maintaining independence from these groups. Assignment They would be assigned for specific model reviews as required depending on the business needs. Top Skills Knowledge of quantitative risk models methodologies Knowledge of Basel II Strong writing Skills Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail and accuracy Accountabilities Conduct Independent Reviews of the Bank s Pillar 1 Advanced Approaches (75%) For Advanced Approaches conduct independent reviews of models their validation and ongoing performance as well as policies and procedures that support operation of the credit risk rating operational risk measurement system or market risk measurement system and or counterparty credit risk. Conduct and document assigned reviews and tests in accordance with established operating procedures and standards and within the timeframe set out in the annual plan for the specific Independent Review. Form an independent view of the status of compliance with requirements for Pillar 1 Advanced Approaches identify gaps to full compliance and areas for improvement. Prepare comprehensive and professionally written results which include compliance issues and areas for improvement for stakeholder and executive audiences. Maintain reviews tests and supporting documentation in auditable form in accordance with established operating procedures. Knowledge and Skills Undergraduate degree in related discipline business finance accounting economics mathematics 5 years risk management experience at a financial institution in credit risk management operational risk management market risk management CCR management internal audit or regulatory compliance Knowledge of quantitative risk models methodologies Knowledge of Basel II in particular Pillar 1 Advanced Approaches OSFI s Capital Adequacy Requirements (CAR) Guideline A-1 and related Implementation Notes. Knowledge of banking products and their risk characteristics including wholesale and retail credit risk products and market risk CCR products.
