Our client is well established IT consulting looking for Intermediate COTS Tester Location Ottawa - Ontario Duration 12 months contract position with strong possibility of further extension Summary Must be ONSITE - No Remote Core business hours Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm Max Billable Hours 7.5 hrs per day 37.5 hours per week Canadian Federal Government Enhanced Reliability Check security clearance Senior Tester Top 3 Skills 1. Establishing software-testing procedures for unit test integration testing and regression testing with emphasis on automating the testing procedures 2. Interacting with project team members to review functional design specifications and seeking clarification as required to complete test specifications 3. Ensuring that product release bugs and changes are documented tracked managed and resolved The Senior Testers will hold at minimum a valid and active Canadian Federal Government Enhanced Reliability Check security clearance. The roles will be as follows In addition to being a subject matter expert in their specified areas the resource must also meet the following requirements for Client acceptance MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS Security Clearance Enhanced Reliability Number of years in this specific category performing activities similar to those described in this summary 5 years A minimum of 4 years demonstrable COTS Software implementation project experience. Experience may have been gained working with a different COTS Software product than the proposed COTS Software solution Reference Projects Required 2 Projects RATED REQUIREMENTS The proposed Senior Tester should demonstrate experience in the following activities on a COTS Software system implementation. General Experience Professional Development and Certification requirements are listed in descending order of importance. General Experience a) Providing input to the design team to ensure that testing considerations are incorporated in the design (e.g. instrumentation of code for debugging) b) Review and analysis of test basis information c) Development of detailed clear concise and repeatable test cases d) Identification manipulation and or creation of test data e) Execution of assigned test cases f) Reporting of test execution progress using project tools g) Logging software defects h) Retesting defect fixes i) Submission of weekly status reports j) Overseeing and monitoring of test plans for all levels of testing k) Ensuring that product release bugs and changes are documented tracked managed and resolved l) Interacting with project team members to review functional design specifications and seeking clarification as required to complete test specifications m) Interacting with the project team members to explain faults and review test results as required Experience with the Rational Tool Suite or comparable test case management and defect management tools suites is an asset. COTS Software Project Experience The proposed resource should have demonstrated project experience on a minimum of two (2) COTS Software system implementations designing and developing system test plans. Professional development Progressive practical experience with a continual learning pattern is desirable. List recent relevant courses in the last five (5) years and applicable pertinent experience i. Three (3) relevant courses with pertinent project experience ii. Two (2) relevant courses with pertinent project experience iii. One (1) relevant course with pertinent project experience iv. Relevant courses but no project experience v. No relevant courses Certification In descending order of importance In descending order of importance i. In proposed COTS Software (Pension or CRM) ii. In other COTS Software (Pension or CRM) iii. No COTS Software Certification but a minimum of two (2) courses completed in proposed COTS Software iv.
