My client is a well-established IT Consulting Company located in Winnipeg MB. They are looking for GIS Web Application Developer. This is a 9 month contract position with a strong possibility of an extension. Top 3 skills 1. Experience in GIS Desktop and GIS Web Application Development 2. ArcSDE Administration Description As a GIS Web Application Developer you will be leading an application support team and be responsible for the availability and performance of application software and the development of GIS solutions to support client business functions. You will demonstrate superior skills in communication customer relationship management and team building. Your subject matter expertise will be used to lead your team in solving complex problems and in developing sound solutions for our customers. Key Responsibilities Represents the team to clients vendors and stakeholders and achieves high customer satisfaction scores through high quality service and solutions provided by the team Coordinate work assignments and activities within the team delegate tasks set priorities review deliverables and ensure team solutions are satisfactory Monitor the queue for aging tickets ensure support documentation is kept up-to-date identify and escalate issues preventing resolution and ensure the appropriate handoffs are made Act as the subject-matter expert for processes tools services and portfolio Be proficient with technologies required to build and run the application and be knowledgeable regarding application architecture design and function Lead participate and represent the team in a Change Advisory or Technical Advisory Board Direct the resolution of incidents and coordinate multiple disciplinary teams when required Troubleshoot code level issues and perform code fixes as required Provide primary support for incidents and service requests including off-hours support for critical priority incidents for assigned applications Review and verify changes solutions to ensure they are acceptable for deployment Package and deploy newer versions of software tools used by the clients Lead team in resolution of complex problems identification of root causes of repeat incidents and proactive prevention of application incidents Ensure team solves common and complex application issues within established guidelines and recommend appropriate solutions and alternatives Analyze requirements develop estimates assign work activities and measure individual and team performance Provide mentoring and guidance to team members Develop and execute remediation plans for issues caused by platform upgrades Create and maintain documentation Support and maintain information systems per standard IT process methodology Escalate issues identify risks and implement appropriate mitigation plans Development of code configuration and implementation of off the shelf software. Most development will be within the ESRI and Microsoft development framework for GIS and non-GIS functional components Translate documented business requirements into a system design. This will be done in collaboration with an IT Architect and a GIS Data Developer as well as other members of the technical team Development of application functionality based on business requirements Provision of estimates to be used in development of the project schedule Code version management Adherence to best practices with regard to application development and transition to a production environment Work with QA team members as part of unit and system testing Qualifications Bachelor s degree in Computer Science GIS Geography Engineering Business or equivalent experience Certified in ITIL Foundations 8 years application management or application development experience 5 years Team Lead experience Excellent verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated experience in a client facing role Experienced in Incident Problem Change and Release Management Experience working within a formal project management framework as part of the systems development lifecycle Recent experience in the multi-tier Web application development process design implementation testing and deployment Experience working within the ESRI COTS approach to GIS solution development Experience in GIS Desktop and GIS Web Application Development Application development using Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 2010 ArcSDE Administration Imagery Portal Caching ESRI application development framework for ArcGIS Server 9x 10x ArcSDE 9x 10x and ArcObjects 9x 10x (ArcGIS Desktop 9x 10x) ArcObjects API and ArcGIS desktop extensions C .NET ASP.NET CSS AJAX JavaScript & HTML 5 Silverlight 4 & 5 Development with MVVM & ESRI API for Silverlight NetAdvantage s Infragistics Controls Oracle PL SQL Transact-SQL & Toad Microsoft IIS server configuration setting for Web applications ESRI Web ADF SOAP Entity Framework (Oracle and SQL Server) GeoCortex Essentials (Workflows & Extensions) Desired experience also includes Implementation of ArcSDE geodatabases Development of GIS services (map services geoprocessing services image services) Integration experience with JetBrains TeamCity (or equivalent) Experience with JetBrains Resharper Python development Please note that this is the most up to date version of job description available at this time During Client Interview you will receive additional information variance may apply When you have some time please register in our database (5 minute process) to be considered for future openings the link is available on our website at www.teamrecruiter.com in the Candidate section.
