Engineer

Oversees utilities load and demand forecasts for water steam electrical chilled water. Plans schedules conducts or coordinates detailed phases of engineering work as a part of a major project or total project. May supervise or coordinate work of engineers and others who assist in specific assignments. Performs utility rate analysis. Work may require supervisory responsibility. Work is performed in an office (50%) and in the field (50%). Work will be around areas with rotating equipment high voltage high pressure superheated steam presences of asbestos high noise areas. Frequent access to construction sites. Must be able to occasionally move about or remain in a stationary position 50 percent of the time. Constantly positions self to fulfill the duties of the position which include work on the underground or above ground utility distribution systems. Occasionally ascends descends heights to accomplish work. Promotional opportunities may be available through established career development plan. Minimum qualifications Bachelor degree in Engineering Engineering Technology (Mechanical Industrial or Electrical) or related field and one year of engineering experience including drafting technical writing estimating and design. Experience in energy and water conservation facilities operations HVAC systems utilities production operations district energy systems building controls and project management. Obtain Engineer in Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) or Registered Professional Engineer (PE) certification within one year of hire. Knowledge of equipment and systems appropriate to related discipline. Knowledge of design applications. Knowledge of all federal state and local codes and ordinances pertinent to position. Knowledge of engineering principles and practices. Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications. Proficient with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to foster a cooperative work environment. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Ability to conduct field inspections surveys and measurements for engineering projects. Ability to produce reports containing technical information.
