Plant Safety Manager

SUMMARY This individual will champion all safety and environmental initiatives and continually improve processes for the organization while maintaining compliance with all federal state and local laws and regulations. RESPONSIBILITIES Verify regulatory compliance for all policies and practices Assist in leading and maintaining ISO14001 environmental standards Perform compliances audits for all outside contractors and or vendors Implement programs to ensure compliance with NFPA codes that safeguard all employees and the work environment work with contractors and or vendors to ensure they are in compliance with NFPA codes Maintain all health and safety documentation and recordkeeping including SARA Title 313 reporting and documentation Coordinate with human resources to continually improve safety training programs such as lockout tagout hilo training PPE and environmental awareness Lead the safety and environmental training and onboarding process for new hires Lead cross functional safety committee to help recognize and address any safety related issues while also raising awareness of safety related issues Assist in evaluating environmental impact related to chemical waste generation storm water run-off control air quality and or health related concerns regarding proper use of chemicals in the work environment Schedule and coordinate all federal state and local inspections related to environment and safety and perform regular safety audits QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor s degree in occupational safety or environmental health management Experience managing safety and environmental issues within a manufacturing environment including health and safety audit experience Strong knowledge of all OSHA NFPA EPA DEQ ISO 14001 and related regulations Experience auditing job sites for health and safety compliance and creating safety awareness and training programs Experience with ergonomic analysis Ability to lead and drive projects to completion MIOSHA level 1 certification and Certified Storm Water Operator (SWPPP) certification preferred MANAGEMENT BUSINESS SOLUTIONS IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER
