Engineer Systems Administrator

The Engineering Systems Analyst position has responsibility for server operations in the OSU ITLE department. The position has responsibility for technical and physical infrastructure supporting the daily activities of Oklahoma State University Institute for Teaching and Learning Excellence and its clients. This position will oversee more than 5 servers with engineering team support. The position will also research available technology develop and suggest operations to accomplish the unit s goals. Minimum qualifications High School GED and four years system administration experience. OR Two Years Post-Secondary education and two years related experience. OR Bachelor s Degree and no required experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience maintaining Unix Linux or Windows based servers in a production environment. Ability to setup administer private LAN for production equipment. Develop new ideas while understanding the implications of technical and logistical factors. Requires complex and original thinking and autonomy in decision making. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. when moving equipment. Preferred qualifications Bachelor s Degree in CIS MSIS or related field of study. Two or more years of related work experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience maintaining Unix Linux or Windows based servers in a production environment. Ability to setup administer private LAN for production equipment. Develop new ideas while understanding the implications of technical and logistical factors. Requires complex and original thinking and autonomy in decision making.
