The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated highly organized individual with strong leadership skills. Primary Responsibility Works under the direction of the Environmental Services Manager to protect maintain and enhance PIER 39 property and environment in relation to the goals and objectives of the Company. The Night Housekeeping Coordinator is a dual hands-on position responsible for the supervision of services provided for the common area and for the tenants. The position is responsible for the supervision of union personnel as assigned. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the supervision of onsite services in order to maintain a clean safe and attractive property.Specific Duties - Supervises a staff which involves direct and indirect responsibilities for establishing a schedule planning daily work assignments training motivating delivering of performance appraisals recommending policies and developing procedures to ensure achievement of departmental goals.- Assures that Housekeeping staff follow established safety regulations in the use of equipment and supplies at all times. Responsible for conducting regular safety meetings to ensure the health and safety of employees.- Assist with the coordination and implementation of scheduled marketing events.- Maintains the care and use of supplies equipment and the appearance of Housekeeping areas as well as performs regular inspections of property for sanitation order safety and proper performance of assigned duties.- Communicates with other department supervisors to adequately plan for Housekeeping services and activities.- Responsible for managing evening recycling and composting processes.- Assist with managing hazardous materials and training.- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.Job Level Intermediate level. Applies job skills and policies and procedures to complete a variety of tasks of moderate scope and complexity. Normally receives general supervision for assignments. Works under moderate supervision.Compensation 46 000 - 50 000 yrEducation Experience - High school graduate or equivalent academic achievement- Certificate or training in the Janitorial cleaning trade or similar studies- Two years experience in the maintenance of Buildings and Grounds either private or public land- Six months of supervisory experience- Valid California driver s license- Computer Skills involving Microsoft OfficeSpecial Requirements - Must have excellent customer service organizational communication and leadership skills- Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Also the ability to write routine reports and correspondence and the ability to speak effectively before groups- Must have experience and the ability to operate and train employees on the use of power tools and machinery and other types of equipment necessary- Must be able to work weekends Holidays and off hours as required by the nature of the employers businessPhysical Requirements Physical Activities Light to medium work- Position involves sitting standing and or walking.
