Piano instruction is a delicate juggling act something like teaching a weird math class where all the students are artists and there s no right answer. Music is intuitive and technical. Music comes in a lot of flavors. 1 of the major 1st challenges of any piano instruction is finding the student s style. Forcing a student to conform to a style unlike their own is like pulling teeth. When I teach I assume that I m starting a long-term relationship with an individual. Students come in all varieties and they must all be accommodated for.
