Associate Director New Product Development Center

The Associate Director of the NPDC will support the Director in the administration of the broader outreach unit. Those responsibilities including providing guidance and vision for unit growth and sustainability fundraising supporting the NPDC technical staff with business analysis for project clients or making the connection to the appropriate SBDC business support personnel. The Associate Director serves as Acting Director in his absence. The Associate Director for NPDC coordinates with NPDC business and technical staff to complete multi-disciplinary projects engages cross-campus resources develops effective relationships with clients and liaises with state and federal agencies to ensure the long-term success of the NPDC. In addition the Associate Director will direct the program and efforts of the OSU Small Business Development and Technology Center. The OSU Small Business Development and Technology Center (OSU SBTDC) provides business advisory and technology support services to businesses in Oklahoma to promote their development growth and sustainability. The OSU SBTDC works closely with the Small Business Development Center network across the state which consists of more than 40 business advising centers and satellite offices. The OSU SBTDC provides business services such as business planning financial analysis marketing research lending assistance government contracting technology commercialization and manufacturing assistance to new and established businesses. The SBTDC program director is in charge of the overall administration of the SBTDC on the OSU Stillwater and Tulsa campuses. He she will be directly responsible for all functions and the implementation of the SBTDC program including staffing reporting financial oversight fundraising client outreach networking with state and national business and economic development resources and identifying new partnerships as well as fully integrating the SBTDC in to the state SBDC network throughout Oklahoma. The OSU New Product Development Center (NPDC) an outreach and extension unit of the College of Engineering Architecture and Technology at the Oklahoma State University provides Oklahoma manufacturers and inventors with university-based research teams to develop and commercialize new product concepts. These efforts may include evaluating the characteristics of existing products establishing the status of technology evaluating the business and financial implications of new product implementation developing new products updating a current product to lead the market integrating new technology or broadening market shares with new product features. Position is contingent upon funding availability. Position will be housed in Stillwater but statewide travel and travel to OSU-Tulsa will be required. Required qualifications Master s degree in business or a business-related field. A minimum of ten years of experience with business service delivery and program management. Experience in grants management and administration and grant and donor funded programs. Knowledge of project and program management proposal development budgeting financial management business development human resource management grants management and administration. Demonstrated skills in program startup implementation client outreach and partnership development. Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication public speaking and organizational skills. A high degree of initiative self-direction decision making and organizational skills. A demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with clients coworkers employees supervisors and program partners. Preferred qualification Fifteen years of experience with ten years being in grants management and administration.
