The Project Manager (Accountant VI) performs advanced accounting consultative services and technical assistance work in support of the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission s (TABC) Business Services Division. Work involves coordinating the planning developing and overseeing accounting systems (Uniform Statewide Accounting System (USAS) Centralized Accounting and Payroll Personnel System (CAPPS)) and procedures providing consultative services and technical assistance to division staff. This position will be primarily responsible for the oversight and implementation of the CAPPS System for TABC as well as the maintenance of the division s automated financial tools. An excellent candidate will possess experience in accounting financial analysis or related area. Analyze current user functional needs and consults with finance and technology staff to improve the TABC accounting and payroll system and procedures to enable users to provide quality services. Ability to research inconsistencies of facts or data drawing correct inferences from information and making recommendations that support business decisions. Ability to analyze organize and communicate complex ideas and information clearly concisely and effectively. Analyzes department automation needs to identify and implement applications to improve operational efficiency. Maintains overall quality control of data in the agency s financial system. Five (5) years progressively responsible experience in accounting financial analysis financial systems or related area. Additional experience in accounting financial analysis financial systems or related area may be substituted for education on a year for year basis. (Experience requirements may be satisfied by full-time experience or the prorated part-time equivalent.) Experience with financial systems such as PeopleSoft Workday or SAP. Travel required up to 15% day travel. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS MBA or CPA. PMP Certification. Experience in Project Management Enterprise Resources Planning and CAPPS.
