Quad City Wind Ensemble to Have Open Rehearsal on Sunday August 30 2015The Quad City Wind Ensemble will be having an open rehearsal for current players and any prospective members this coming Sunday August 30 2015 from 6 00 p.m. to 8 30 p.m. in Madsen Hall located in the Galvin Fine Arts Center on the Campus of St. Ambrose University 518 West Locust Street Davenport IA 52803.The Quad City Wind Ensemble is a concert band comprised of professional musicians and talented amateurs who play woodwind brass and percussion instruments. Each member auditions to be in the group. The QCWE is in its 30th season of giving concerts.The auditions for the group will be held on Sunday September 13 2015 from 1 00 p.m. to 5 00 p.m. also in Madsen Hall.All prospective new members must audition. Returning members audition every other year - woodwinds one year and then brass and percussion the next year. This is the year that all returning brass and percussion players will be auditioning. Audition materials are the Iowa All-State Etudes that will be used for the current year Iowa All-State Music Festival.
