Position Fugitive Extradition Officer Orlando Field OfficeAnnual Pay 33 000.00 - 44 000.00 Depending on Rank Time in Service and Experience Must be able and willing to travel coast to coast for up to but not limited to 10 days at a time ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure secure and safe transportation of detainees from specified sites to designated points Ensure that the transportation vehicles are in safe and correct working order. Maintain complete control of the transport vehicles at all times and ensure that vehicles are operated in a safe and legal manner. Conduct pat-down searches of detainees ensure that detainees are properly secured prior to leaving a facility and while in a vehicle ensure that all paperwork is obtained and completed accurately thoroughly while obtaining detainees at a facility and delivering them to their appropriate destinations. Establish relationships and communicate with individuals at agencies maintaining order with detainees and minimizing the use of force. Ensure that all paperwork is obtained completed accurately and thoroughly when accepting custody of detainees at facilities and when delivering them to their appropriate destinations. Maintain physical and mental fitness to endure demanding trip schedules while retaining alertness as well as protecting fellow officers detainees and the public in times of emergency. REQUIRED SKILLS Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and or console monitor Ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public Effective oral and written communication skills Active listening skills and attentiveness to detail Ability to assess identify and evaluate situations efficiently and effectively Long periods of sitting Driving PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to pass a Physical Fitness Test to include a timed run push-ups and sit-ups. OTHER Must pass Drug Screening (ZERO Tolerance Policy) Must pass an extensive background check to include criminal history personal references employment and education verifications Department of Motor Vehicle records check. Must have never been convicted of a felony OR disqualifying misdemeanor. Must be able and willing to safely drive in all weather conditions including inclement weather. Must Pass 40-hour Prisoner Extraditions Certification Course prior to employment.
