The City of Wichita KS Parks and Recreation Department seeks qualified candidates for the position of Superintendent of Recreation. Under the general supervision of the Park & Recreation Director and Partnerships with community stakeholders provides programs activities special events entertainment and health and wellness activities within the entire Wichita community. This is administrative and managerial work planning and directing recreation services City-wide. Work may involve responsibility for managing through subordinate supervisor administration operations recreation programming and or maintenance and security of aquatic facilities recreation facilities special events and other areas as assigned. Performance is monitored through conferences meetings reports observations customer feedback and review of program measures. Work is directed and reviewed through the establishment of goals and subsequent evaluation of progress toward goal attainment.Graduation from an accredited four-year college with a degree in parks management recreation business or public administration or a closely related field. At least five years of progressing responsible experience in park management programming and administration. Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) preferred. An equivalent combination of education experience and training may be considered.
