Care Giver Community Support (Santa Clarita Area) Jay Nolan Community Services is a non-profit agency and supports adults & children with Autism and other developmental disabilities to live as independently as possible in their homes as well as in their communities. Currently we have several part-time open positions (Valencia Santa Clarita Lancaster & Tarzana). QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for individuals who have experience supporting individuals with Autism and or other developmental disabilities including challenging behaviors. The Community Direct Care Support person provides individual support such as problem solving companionship guidance and assistance with everyday living to an individual in his home and community. The hourly salary for all positions is to be determined and based on previous experience supporting individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities. ADDITIONAL DUTIES The ideal candidates must be team players caring energetic responsible and outgoing.You must have a desire to teach independent living skills including community safety and awareness and be able to use community resources to help the supported individual become independent and reach goals. An understanding of various cultural differences and Autism Spectrum Disorder is essential. Specific types of support are based on individual needs interests and desires. The ideal candidate must be able to communicate clearly and effectively. You must be able to provide constant support supervision using the tools & techniques provided during training when the supported individual is in crisis. A valid driver s license good driving record current auto insurance and a reliable vehicle are required.
