Director of Finance and HR

SUMMARY Management Business Solutions is seeking a Director of Finance and HR for our client in the education industry for their Ann Arbor MI location. The Director of Finance and HR will be responsible for managing daily operations of the business office to include maintaining account balances insurance renewals manage employee benefits and payroll. The ideal candidate will support fellow members of the administration staff and faculty in the spirit of collegiality and mutual respect. RESPONSIBILITIES Oversees general ledger journal entries and month end and year end closings. Performs reconciliations as needed for various accounts. Prepares annual budget in conjunction with Head of School & Finance Committee Budget performance analysis and reporting (class budgets payroll auxiliary programs annual fund). Assists in preparation of long-range financial plan. Coordinates with department directors for all reporting requirements and budget administration. Oversees the preparation of interim financial reports for Board of Trustees. Works with auditors and prepare documents required for conducting the annual audit. Heads up the Finance Committee meetings and serves on Financial Aid Committee. Maintains current account balances and Banking Investment relations. Manages short & long term investment of funds for operating & restricted funds. Coordinates authorizes investments with brokers and bankers. Acts as administrator for school insurance policies including renewals claims etc. Oversees internal cash controls Accounts Payables Accounts Receivable Purchasing. Reviews and approves invoices for payment and capital purchases. Prepares faculty employment contracts including contract language and salaries. Administrator for 403(b) retirement plan and tax sheltered annuity retirement plan. Administrator for Section 125 cafeteria plan health dental disability coverage medical and child care reimbursements accounts. Attends meetings and conferences which benefit the school and or Business Office operations and administration. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor s degree in accounting finance business administration or a related field required. 5 years of experience in accounting and finance roles with supervisory experience. Prior experience of partnering with HR and other departments. Knowledge of Microsoft Office software. Highly capable with spreadsheets and databases.
