The Training Coordinator is responsible for the development and implementation of formal training programs for the Associated Recreation Council (ARC) which includes administrative preschool school-age care and other program staff who serve children youth and adults. This role will be responsible for analyzing training needs developing curriculum coordinating the delivery of training programs contracting with external training resources as well as managing the approved annual training budget. This position will ensure employees are in compliance with all job specific training programs as required by the Department of Early Learning s licensing regulations and in adherence to ARC policy and procedures. Under the direction of the HR Manager and in collaboration with the Operations Team the Training Coordinator will assess develop and sustain training programs that align with our organization goals and initiatives. Responsibilities Plan organize and direct a wide range of specialized training programs Work closely with management and organization leaders to identify training needs and training gaps within the organization Work with various stakeholders to develop new training programs or modify and improve existing programs. May include board volunteer and staff training programs Implement and manage a system for evaluating the quality and effectiveness of training programs and implement improvements as needed Develop job specific training programs to help employees improve and enhance their current skills and prepare them for advanced positions within ARC Arrange on-the-job training for new employees and conduct new hire orientation sessions Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and organizational policies associated with employee training which may include cross department coordination Work with external vendors such as Seattle Parks and Recreation American Red Cross School s Out Washington and the greater Seattle community on developing training programs specific to our organization s needs Manages and monitors the assigned training budget Facilitate organization wide site and job specific training programs including managing training logistics such as working with and welcoming external vendors coordinating schedules securing and setting up resources preparing training guides and materials and acting as the main contact for all employee and supervisor communications Effectively work to cultivate relationships at all levels of the organization Track and maintain employee training records in HRIS Other duties as assigned by supervisor Minimum Qualifications Bachelor s degree in a related field or equivalent experience and knowledge Three plus years of non-profit education human resources or adult education experience Ability to assess needs related to ARC s practices procedures computer systems and produce training programs and materials to target these needs Leadership skills to effectively direct trainees and other professionals while in a training class environment and ability to properly evaluate comprehension and application of subject material This position requires initiative motivation creativity and ability to understand many areas of expertise Ability to adapt to constant change and react positively to new and changing developments Ability to communicate professionally with individuals at all levels of the organization Strong written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated ability to produce and deliver quality training programs to audiences with a wide range of learning styles Strong technical writing skills for development implementation and maintenance of the training materials Strong public speaking and presentation skills A flexible approach in addressing challenges and a desire to provide excellent customer service Strong MS Office Suite skills including Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook Ability to handle confidential information and knowledge of sensitive situations appropriately Training certifications a plus This is a full-time benefited position.
