As a teacher I hope to enable students to think in innovative ways encourage students to take risks and show students new alternatives to artistic challenges. I want to provide a learning environment for students where they feel comfortable talking with each other asking questions making mistakes and learning from them. My goal as an art teacher is to provide projects that enrich my students with rich visual language in order to investigate and express ideas surrounding their environment culture and society. A quality curriculum should be rooted in the life experiences and interests of both the students and teachers. Through my curriculum I hope to expand the exploration of art in the classroom to include critical thinking creative problem solving and an emphasis on visual communication. Through art making informed by critical thinking and discussion students can experience art as something vitally connected to their lives....
