Scott Midkiff vice president for Info Technology and Chief Info Officer and Terry Herdman associate vice president for Research Computing will provide an overview of Virginia Tech s Advanced Research Computing (ATRC) unit and its services for high-performance computing and visualization. ARC systems include NewRiver a new high-performance computing system designed to support a range of both compute- and memory-intensive applications. Ample time will be allowed for discussion to better understand how ARC can better support the advanced research computing needs of Virginia Tech researchers in the National Capital Region.
