Car Show and Black Pot Cook-Off

Old Town Clovis invites guests to take a journey back in time to appreciate beautiful classic cars and experience the timeless tradition of black pot cooking. Also known as Dutch ovens cast-iron pots gained popularity in the 1800s and were used not only by cowboys on the trails but also in homes. Now the Black Pot Cook-Off highlights the heritage of Old Town by inviting teams to compete in 1 of four categories main dishes sides breads and desserts. Artisans demonstrating the skills of yarn spinning furniture caning and blacksmithing will show us how these art forms have survived over the centuries.
