Voterise Park City Friend- and Fundraiser Happy Hour

Join us for wine beer and hors d oeuvres and learn about VOTERISE S plans to close the gaps in Utah s and Summit County s electorate and build a more vibrant democracy. A nonpartisan 501-C-3 nonprofit VOTERISE is dedicated to voter registration and civic engagement of millennials and other groups that are under-represented in the electorate and not a moment too soon. In the 2014 mid-term election Utah ranked near the bottom in voter turnout below 29%. For millennials the turnout was an embarrassing 8.1% and only 38%% of Utah s people of color registered to vote. That same year Summit County had a paltry 39% voter turnout. Even in the last Presidential election only 34% of Utah s 18-29 yr olds voted. This event is hosted by VOTERISE co-founders Dick and Elsa Gary Park City residents (learn more here) and features discussion about community solutions to the barriers valid and perceived to voting for millennials and other groups.
