This handsome little guy came into TGF in January 2014 transferred from Iowa Rescue League along with 30 other birds whose owner had died. He had been a bird breeder so some of the birds are the parents while others are youngsters he d raised. The names of these birds were given to them at the animal shelter we have no past history or ages on them. We have comprehensive wellness testing and we interact with them every day so we can tell you a bit about their behavior. They are a little shy but with some patience and with a little more time each one of the birds in this flock will continue to transition well to be. Score s partner friend and cagemate is Score a female. Just because both male and female are housed together doesn t mean that they must be breeders or are destined to have babies. When birds come to TGF as pairs if when they are bonded we allow them to remain together as long as both birds are compatible. At TGF we have many same sex pairs both male and female and some mixed gender pairs. Both Savvy and Score will be adopted together. It s not true that if a bird has a bird friend that the bird will not bond to a human. Think of it this way instead Savvy and Score have someone who speaks their specific bird language and looks and acts like them.
