Hi my name is Eli. I am a older Shepard Hound mix breed gentleman of approximately 10-12 years. It is funny I have heard people call me a senior. But I don t think of myself as a senior. Sure I love to take lots of naps and relax in my crate but I also love to play with the new toys my foster family has given me. I like pushing the ball around on the floor with my nose but my favorite is the stuffed bear. My stuffed bear is like a silent pal. I like to play with it and I even take it with me to eat.. the bear likes to watch me eat. But if for some reason I think you need to smile I will bring it to you and hold it up to your hand so you can enjoy the happiness it give me too so long as you make sure to give it back as the bear needs to nap with me too.Like I said I love to take naps but because I am social I need for my crate to be in my owner s room. It gives me comfort to know you are sleeping close by and if you need to leave during the day that is ok with me at least I know that you will be back soon. If you leave the TV on for me while you are gone I can catch up on my afternoon stories and news... keeping up to date is important.One of the great things about my foster family is the food. See I like to eat. No I mean really eat. They tell me that I was too thin at 50 lbs and need to gain some weight. So whenever I come from outside I like to come to the kitchen and get a great big drink of water and eat a good meal. I get to do this a few times a day. After I eat I like to go lay down on the blanket in the living room and watch tv with the family.I have also heard that I was heart worm positive. But do not worry I have undergone treatment for the heartworms and I did very well. I am supposed to go back for a checkup but if I know me like I think I do they are all gone now. After I underwent the heartworm treatment I got neutered. While I was not pleased with that at all I understood it was for my continued well being. I have now healed from that experience and am getting along just great. I am better with larger dogs than very tiny ones and I am not a fan of cats. I like to sniff them they like to run and I like to chase them. I haven t caught one yet and my foster parents say that it would be best for me to keep my paws to myself when it comes to cats.When I was neutered I weighed about 60 pounds my foster parents and the vet said that they would like me to continue gaining weight probably another 10 pounds. I m good with that because it means more food )Anyway if my story touches you the way that it touched my foster family maybe you will consider meeting me. While I love my foster parents and have grown a little attached to them and them to me I know my forever family is looking for a best pal..
