Accounting Manager / Controller - Compensation: 35K-40K

Basic Function The position is accountable for the accounting administrative and human resources operations of the company to include the production of periodic financial reports maintenance of an adequate system of accounting & personnel records and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk enhance the accuracy of the company s reported financial results and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting and HR principles.Management 1. Maintain a documented system of accounting personnel and administrative policies and procedures.2. Oversee the operations of the accounting department including recruiting selecting training coaching appraising and disciplining employees.3. Oversee the administrative and human resources operations of the company.Transactions1. Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner and that all reasonable discounts are taken.2. Ensure that accounts receivable are billed and collected promptly and accurately.3. Process payroll in a timely manner.4. Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed.5. Maintain the chart of accounts and an orderly accounting filing system.6. Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions.7. Maintain the company personnel policy & procedure manuals and systems.8. Review and assess the company s insurance needs and procure adequate coverage. Reporting1. Issue timely and complete financial statements and annual reports.2. Prepare all information needed for timely preparation of corporate tax returns.3. Assist in the production of the annual budget and forecasts.4. Provide management cost reports and financial analyses as needed.Compliance1. Coordinate and prepare information to external auditors for annual or special audits.2. Comply with local state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings including monthly quarterly and occasional sales tax filings and payments.Additional Accountabilities1.
