Title Committee Secretary (PM 2)Location ScarboroughOther Locations Under direction of the Director of Governance this position is responsible for supporting deliberative processes of UTSC governance bodies by providing secretariat support for the UTSC Campus Council and assigned Committees and by providing information and advice on policies precedents procedures and protocol. The incumbent also provides liaison between Campus Council and Committees senior administration and stakeholder groups and advises parties on proceeding with matters that come before UTSC governance committees. In addition the incumbent will provide secretariat support for ad hoc committees. Under the direction of the Director of Governance the incumbent administers UTSC s academic appeals process and the awards of excellence recognition processes. The position also provides support to the Director in the role of Freedom of Information Liaison for UTSC responding to requests for information advising on and investigating breaches of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.(Minimum)Education University graduation or equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience Experience in a post-secondary educational institution important several years familiarity with governance committee work and experience as recording secretary or equivalent.Skills Knowledge of Microsoft Word Excel Access PowerPoint various scheduling software products familiarity with Sharepoint Diligent BoardBook and web content management systems an asset. Strong written communication skills vital precision of thought and attention to detail the ability to apply principles to factual situations a sense of process ability to serve the needs of multiple clients needs while preserving and guarding the intent integrity of policy and principles with UTSCost neutrality and objectivity.Other Strong integrative skills related to understanding cross-functional implication and inter-relationships of issues and decisions strong analytical skills meticulous approach to work ability to deal with difficult and or confidential situations political sensitivity tact and diplomacy ability to remain neutral in highly trying or political circumstances ability to influence others over whom there is no direct reporting relationship to achieve tasks and functional responsibilities by means of esteem credibility and relationship-building skills.Apply NowCompany
