Sam-300 - Male MastiffAnatolian Shepherd Mix

Sam is an approx 2 yr old (est DOB 07 31 2014) neutered male Mastiff Anatolian Shepherd mix weighing in at approx 80 lbs and is fully grown. Sam comes to us as an owner surrender from rural Oklahoma. His owners adopted him from a shelter in Oklahoma about a year ago and basically left him outside 24 7. They are now divorcing and Sam was intercepted by a volunteer at the shelter when they went there to return him. As an owner surrender Sam would have been immediately euthanized due to the shelter being full. Sam is dog friendly but as play escalates he can get too rough with small dogs so does need to be monitored around small dogs (is fine with dogs approx 40 lbs or bigger). He can be protective of his food bowl around other dogs but has not displayed this behavior with people. Sam is best described as a big goofy ball of love. He s one of those dogs that when you see him you know he s full of nothing but love. Since Sam spent the past year as someone s lawn ornament he will need a crash course in house training. He is eager to please and should do well with this quickly. We will update Sam s photos and bio as we learn more about him.
