Skipper is a sweet purebred girl who has been a mama to far too many puppies in her short life. Skipper is one of 6 dogs ACDRA rescued from a rural breeder in Kentucky. She was bred time and time again and at 5-1 2 years old she had already had over 30 puppies. And she had never lived inside a house. That is all behind her now.Skipper has adjusted very well to the indoor life She loves to snuggle curl up on her bed relax in her crate and chew on elk antlers and squeaky toys. She is living with 4 other dogs ranging in size from 15 lbs. to 45 lbs. and she does great with them all. She isn t very interested in playing with them but will mouth wrestle with them from time to time.What Skipper loves more than anything in the world is chasing balls. She especially enjoys big jolly balls but she also will run after tennis balls. She will fetch and return and fetch and return as long as you will toss. Skipper s other big favorite thing is her person. She has bonded with her foster mom and rarely lets her out of her sight. She would make a great companion to a single person Skipper does great meeting all new people. She is friendly and curious and anxious to say hello. She does get overly excited when you come home from being away for an hour or more and she exhibits mouthiness in her thrill to see you. This leads us to feel she would be better in a home without very young children unless you understand this ACD tendency and have a way to work with it. She was very skinny when she arrived but she has started to fill out. At close to 37 lbs. the vet thinks she looks just about right. Skipper has been spayed and is up to date on shots and preventatives. She is a special dog with great potential and a lot of love to give.
