Cheif is a gorgeous young male Pitbull who has not had the opportunity to become the best dog he can be. He is very stressed in his kennel here and needs a person who wants a dog that wants to please. Cheif will not be content to sit around all day and maybe be taught how to sit he wants to learn and be given direction. With proper instruction this dog will be an amazing companion for someone. Many dogs who are high anxiety here at the shelter are simply dogs that are higher energy and higher drive. They need to exercise and feel like they ve accomplished something to be happy and calm. This doesn t necessarily mean doing agility or other dogs sports (though those are great options ) but can be as simple as taking a dog through basic obedience and working on a new trick every couple of weeks. Cheif is a medium to high energy dog that will need daily walks runs or swims. Behaviorally he has no food aggression toy aggression or problems with people. He is NO CATS and no small dogs. He does currently get humpy with other dogs and can exhibit growly dominance. Our on staff behaviorist will be happy to talk to you about proper socialization before taking him home though.
