Chinchillas can live up to 15-20yrs. They need a continuous amount of hay clean water daily exercise and dust baths a couple times a week. They need a quiet low-light space in the home while they are sleeping during the day. They need to stay cool in their environment at all times. The environment cannot get hotter than 75 degrees. A home with air-conditioning during the summer would be best. They get around by hopping so a Steel Flying Saucer Wheel is great for exercise. They are most active in the dawn and dusk.
