Jay Jay - Male Domestic Shorthair Mix

Hi My name is JayJay. I came in as an owner surrender. I am a senior cat and I am a special needs cat because I have hyperthyroidism. I will need to take a pill every day for the rest of my life. I will also need to have blood work done on a regular basis to be sure my medication dosage is where it should be. Right now this is every month until we find the dosage that works best for me. Before you consider adopting me please check with your vet to see what is involved and the cost of taking care of me. You could also do some research online to get a better understanding of what Hyperthyroidism is and its symptoms. When I first meet people I am very shy. It s taken a while with my foster mom for me to feel comfortable roaming around in my room. My foster mom thinks some of this is because when she brought me home I was not feeling good and was skin and bones. I do like to hide if there are any new sounds or changes in my room. I currently have a wire crate in my room with my litter box food water and a bed. When I first moved in with my foster mom this was my safe place and where I would stay unless my foster mom picked me up and gave me some attention. I now just use my crate as a safe place where I can eat drink and use my litter box. Now I love to get head scratches and tummy rubs and I like to purr when I get attention.When I go to my forever home I will probably be really scared and hide most of the time but with some time I will get over my fears and start roaming around investigating things and love attention.
